IIT Jammu Forges Academic Ties With DAAD Germany To Foster Faculty Exchange

  • The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place at the German Embassy in New Delhi, and it was a significant step in fostering collaborations in education. Dr. Michael Harms, Deputy Secretary General of the DAAD, and Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director of IIT Jammu, officially exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding, reaffirming their commitment to fostering academic cooperation between their two countries.

By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DAAD Germany (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst/German Academic Exchange Service) to facilitate faculty exchange programs between IIT Jammu and esteemed German Higher Education Institutes, the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) has made significant progress in fostering international academic collaboration.

This coordinated effort demonstrates India and Germany's shared desire to deepen their ties in higher education. A fruitful roundtable discussion on methods to promote collaborative academic activities, such as internships, dual degree programs, and credit transfers, took place after the MoU exchange. Dr. Philipp Ackermann, the German ambassador to India, attended the event as well, highlighting the importance of this academic collaboration. The agreement with DAAD Germany is yet another illustration of IIT Jammu's commitment to enhancing its international academic partnerships and enhancing the institution's standing.
