The ceremony for the scholarship awards took place on January 19 at the "Professor Habibullah Conference Hall (Academic Building)". IDCOL, in partnership with the "Center for Policy Research on Business and Development (CPRBD)", conducted the 'IDCOL Scholarship Program' with collaboration from different departments within the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS) at the University of Dhaka. These scholarships were granted based on merit to students who exhibited exceptional academic excellence during their undergraduate studies.
Sharifa Khan, Chairman of IDCOL and Senior Secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD), graced and presided over the event. Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director & CEO of IDCOL, and Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka, were present as distinguished guests. Khan, in her address, expressed gratitude to IDCOL for its continual and invaluable support towards commendable initiatives like the scholarship program.
She stressed that the scholarship awardees should not only be encouraged to sustain their outstanding performance in higher education but also serve as inspirations for others to strive for academic excellence and contribute positively to the nation. During his speech, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Moyeen praised IDCOL's praiseworthy initiative under the transformative leadership of Sharifa Khan and extended sincere appreciation to IDCOL for initiating the merit-based scholarship program.
Other attendees included Emeritus Professor Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque, Professor in the Department of International Business, along with various faculty members such as Professor Abu Hena Reza Hasan, Director of the Center for Policy Research on Business and Development (CPRBD); Professor Masuda Yasmeen, Chairperson of the Department of Economics; Professor Dr. Dhiman Kumar Chowdhury, Chairperson of the Department of Accounting & Information Systems; Professor Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Chairperson of the Department of Finance; Professor Dr. Hasina Sheykh, Chairperson of the Department of Banking and Insurance; Professor Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, Chairperson of the Department of International Business; and Professor Dr. Subodh Deba Nath from the Department of International Business.
