The Student Representative Council and Student Union (MPP/KM) should be included in the process of developing standards for entertainment events (concerts) at higher education institutions (IPT). In a statement, the Department of Higher Education (JPT) stated that directives were issued to all IPT managements under the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) to ensure that the voice and needs of students, as well as the locality and suitability of each IPT, are considered before they are officially adopted at the respective IPT level. These directives, according to the JPT, were in keeping with Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin's recent declaration that rules for conducting entertainment events at IPTs should be set up and produced by IPTs with the MPP/involvement. Previously, there were reports on social media about the guidelines for entertainment activities (concerts) at IPTs, which stated, among other things, that the audience should be segregated according to male and female gender, in addition to introducing a dress code and prohibiting clothing displaying the illuminati logo, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transsexuals, and lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transsexuals (LGBT).
