Government to grant scholarships for special education

  • The government has announced fully funded scholarship opportunities to pursue higher education in inclusive education. The four slots for Masters of Autism and three slots for Masters of Educational Assistive Technologies are for study based in the United Kingdom. The ministry for higher education said that the aim of these scholarships is to train and develop teachers required to deliver special education under the inclusive education policy of the government.

The ministry said that trained teachers in special education enhance the overall quality of life for students with special needs, thereby contributing to the creation of a more inclusive society. To be eligible for these scholarships, applicants should have completed a Bachelors Degree in a related field and have two years of teaching experience in a government school.

Beneficiaries of fully funded scholarships are required to serve at a school designated by the education ministry or an institution dedicated to special needs education upon the successful completion of their studies. The application deadline is 1:30 p.m. on October 5, 2023, and applicants are required to submit their application forms through the "MyEdu" portal.
