The Global Times and Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) inked a three-year strategic cooperation agreement. The agreement was signed by Fan Zhengwei, Party Secretary, President, and Editor-in-Chief of the Global Times, and Wang Daquan, CSCSE Party Secretary and Director.
The memorandum identifies collaborative work in some of the key areas such as marketing the "Study in China" education campaign, facilitating international students in efficiently sharing their experience in China, co-publishing reports, and studying the composition of international students in China. These efforts conform to China's national strategy of furthering the openness of its education system.
Fan highlighted the significance of education in international communication and its contribution to strengthening the global influence of media groups. He pointed out that concerted efforts on the "Study in China" brand could play an important role in motivating more foreign students to make China their destination for studies. The Global Times, with a sense of social responsibility, has been actively involved in educational development and public welfare.
Wang pointed out that promoting the international influence and competitiveness of education is a strategic objective included in China's 2024-2035 education master plan. The CSCSE hopes to offer overall services for inbound and outbound international students. The cooperation with the Global Times will greatly boost the global promotion of the "Study in China" program and enhance the capacity of both Chinese and foreign students to tell their stories about China well.
Aside from the "Study in China" program, both sides also discussed other areas of cooperation, such as co-hosting international education conferences and creating digital apps for international student services.
