Global Indian Education Unveils IT-Centric International School in Tsukuba, Japan

  • In August, Global Indian Education is poised to launch the Tsukuba Campus of One World International School, a project supported by the Ibaraki Prefectural Government. The aim is to enhance the English-language learning environment, particularly for the growing presence of foreign-affiliated companies in the region.

The collaboration between Global Indian Education and the Tsukuba Municipal Government marks a crucial milestone in the advancement of international education in the area. Starting March 1, the school will lease the former municipal Tsukuba Elementary School site, undergoing extensive renovations, including earthquake-proofing measures, to ensure a safe and conducive learning space. This partnership reflects not only a substantial investment in the future of education but also a strong commitment to community engagement and development.

One World International School, following the International Baccalaureate curriculum, will provide a comprehensive program with a focus on IT education, including programming. This emphasis aims to equip students with essential skills for success in the rapidly evolving digital world. Additionally, the school will feature a multinational faculty, fostering a diverse and inclusive educational environment. This approach seeks to prepare students not just for academic success but also for global citizenship, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and international awareness.

Beyond the classroom, One World International School aims to actively involve with the local community through various cultural exchange activities like yoga and English conversation classes. These initiatives intend to foster mutual understanding and respect, bridging cultural gaps. Moreover, the school has ambitious growth plans, with an initial goal of recruiting 40 to 50 students in its inaugural year and a long-term vision of expanding to 300 to 400 students across junior high and high school divisions. This expansion plan underscores the school's commitment to delivering high-quality international education to a broader student base.

The establishment of One World International School in Tsukuba reflects a forward-thinking approach to international education, emphasizing IT skills, multiculturalism, and community engagement. As the school opens its doors to welcome students, it serves as a symbol of innovation and inclusivity, poised to make a significant impact on the educational landscape of Tsukuba and beyond.
