City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is committed to attracting outstanding scholars from around the world through various recruiting and talent development schemes to combine efforts in international academic and scientific research and foster exchange and collaboration. Since its inception in 2023, the Distinguished Visiting Professors Scheme has invited 25 renowned scholars to work alongside CityUHK faculty and students to promote interdisciplinary scientific and academic research.
These 25 Distinguished Visiting Professors hail from prestigious institutions, such as ETH Zurich, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, National University of Singapore, University College London, University of Cambridge and University of Oxford. They are joining hands with faculty and students from CityUHK’s College of Business, College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science, Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, and School of Creative Media to conduct research.
Professor Freddy Boey, CityUHK President, said, “CityUHK has always actively collaborated with top talent worldwide and participated in global research projects. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, CityUHK was recognised as the Most International University in the world, which is a testament to our achievements in fostering collaboration in international academic and scientific research.
As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of CityUHK this year, I hope that our faculty and students will collaborate with the Distinguished Visiting Professors to advance pioneering and inspiring projects, innovating into the future.” The Distinguished Visiting Professors Scheme will continue to invite internationally acclaimed scholars to CityUHK to continue to expand the international academic research network and the university’s global talent pool.
