Alliance University proudly hosted the International School Leaders' Summit (ISLS) 3.0. This esteemed annual event gathers global educational leaders, professionals, and experts to tackle contemporary challenges in education with innovative solutions. This year’s summit, themed "Skill Development and Entrepreneurship", features a series of enlightening sessions and panel discussions. Key topics include the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF), emotional intelligence, and promoting entrepreneurship. Held at Alliance University's central campus, the event welcomed distinguished speakers who shared their knowledge and insights.
During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Guest UT Khader, Honourable Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, highlighted the need to guide the younger generation in today’s fast-paced, consumer-driven world. He advocated for experiential learning through visits to state institutions like ISRO and NIMHANS and emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence in today’s society. Guest of Honor Smt. Aisshwarya DKS Hegde, an educationist and edupreneur, spoke on the potential of AI to spark fundamental questioning and deeper understanding among students. She also stressed the ethical use of AI to maintain value systems and described education as the process of acquiring knowledge to become the best version of oneself.
Special Invitee, Dr. Priyadarshi Nayak, Founder and Chairman of CED Foundation, emphasized the need for focused attention on the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, recognized by the UN. He introduced a unique pedagogy, ALFA (Accessing Learning for All), and highlighted the critical role of teachers' skill development. Mr. Abhay G. Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor of Alliance University, discussed the importance of cultivating higher-order thinking skills and critical thinking. He advocated for a backward integration approach, illustrating how technologies like AI can facilitate this educational process. Mr. Chebbi also underscored the collective goal of contributing towards India's ambition to become the world's third-largest economy, accounting for 10% of global GDP, thereby enhancing the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER).
Dr. Priestly Shan Boaz, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), addressed the educational gap between school and university levels. He advocated for incorporating skill education in areas like tailoring, painting, and baking, drawing inspiration from US models to enhance creativity. Dr. Ray Titus, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Incubation and Innovation) and Dean of Alliance School of Business, examined the connection between mastery and mindset. He highlighted how taking ownership of one’s learning can bridge gaps in the academic journey, leading to a more well-rounded educational experience. Ms. Surekha Shetty, Registrar-General, expressed her appreciation to the CED Foundation for their collaboration and support. She discussed the need to revolutionize education by identifying and addressing gaps within the system.
