AGU Explores Cooperation with Saudi Aramco in Education and Training

  • President Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid and an academic delegation from Arabian Gulf University (AGU) recently convened with Sami Thamer Al Murshid, Vice President of Training and Development, and Mr. Nabeel Abudlla Al Jama’, Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Services at Saudi Aramco. The meeting, which took place at Saudi Aramco's Dhahran headquarters in Saudi Arabia, aimed to explore and discuss potential collaboration opportunities in education and training, as well as to establish Gulf partnership relations for future cooperation.

    During the meeting, Dr. Al Fuhaid expressed his satisfaction in collaborating with the largest international oil company in the Arabian Gulf region. He highlighted some of the university's innovative academic programs that align with the changing needs of the job market. These programs include the Master of Business Administration in Facilities Management, a collaboration between the public and private sectors, offered by the French Arabian Business School (FABS) at AGU in partnership with the French ESSEC Business School. Additionally, he mentioned the Master of Science in Next Generation Computing and Cybersecurity. Dr. Al Fuhaid also discussed the university's initiatives in providing specialized programs, such as the Master of Learning Disabilities specializing in autism, aimed at developing scientific expertise in this field.

    Possibilities for collaboration were explored in consulting and training, aiming to enhance the partnership between academia and industry. Mr. Al Jama’ and Mr. Al Murshid of Saudi Aramco affirmed their endorsement for learning and innovation. They emphasized the company's commitment to advancing its human resources through academic and training initiatives, particularly those concentrating on leadership and management skills. Additionally, they embraced the notion of strengthening cooperation and cultural interchange with AGU to cultivate skilled professionals with the required scientific and practical expertise.
