Clark International Airport Corporation made known its latest initiative aimed at meeting the high global demand for qualified aviation workforce. The agency’s business development department has been assigned the task of constructing an aviation center within the vicinity of the Clark International Airport, which will include modern amenities and appropriate course offerings.
As detailed in the 2023 Aviation Talent Forecast released by CAE Inc., there is anticipation that there shall be a need for 1.3 million new employees in the civil aviation industry in the coming ten years. This includes increasing number of employment opportunities for 284000 new pilots, 402000 technicians, and cabin crew working personnel of 599000.
CIAC seeks to position Clark, as the main hub for the most competent aviation professionals in the Philippines, by offering various training programs for experienced pilots, air traffic controllers, aeronautics engineers, aircraft engineers, radio technicians, and ground handlers.
Speaking of which, the Department of Transportation with the assistance of one of its Undersecretaries, Roberto C. O. Lim, is working with certain aviation institutions to develop schemes that would appeal to the younger generation towards joining the aviation and aerospace industries. Lim pointed out the planned Asia Pacific Aviation Campus by CIAC and other developments such as Airbus Compentence Training Academy and the national aviation campus situated at Philippine State College of Aeronautics.
In appreciation of the existing gap in civil aviation training, CIAC however seeks to put in place credible pilot training courses and skills training in parts manufacture with a view to extending also into production engineering procurement and distribution centers.This aviation campus is going to change the contours of the industry in the Philippines, presenting incredible prospects for aspiring aviation personnel.
