VIT-AP University hosted a program highlighting student accomplishments in campus placements and higher education. The occasion highlighted the Career Development Centre's critical role in mentoring and preparing students for placements in major firms both in India and overseas. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT, stated that the Career Development Centre (CDC) is critical to VIT's renowned placement record. The university has a specialized CDC that collaborates with the VIT centralized career development center to improve students' skills and aptitude. The VIT Supported Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) program aims to give poor rural students with outstanding higher education options. This initiative offers a 100% fee waiver covering academic, hostel, and basic medical expenses, enabling these students to achieve their potential. In this graduating batch, STARS achieved a 100% placement rate at VIT and approximately 90% at VIT-AP, spanning national and multinational companies. Dr. V Samuel Raj Kumar, Director, CDC highlighted that by organizing sessions with experienced trainers and VIT alumni, the center assists students in honing their skills for placement interviews, encompassing both technical and HR dimensions, as well as effectively preparing them for group discussions.
The CDC enabled relationships with over 900 firms during the academic year 2022-2023, hosting about 14500 on-campus placement opportunities. Approximately 4500 Super Dream, 3500 Dream, and 6500 normal employment offers were received, demonstrating the effectiveness of the center's efforts. Dr. SV Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor, commented on the achievement, saying, "Looking ahead, we are dedicated to forging even stronger partnerships with industry leaders, with the goal of nurturing socially conscious and responsible leaders who will leave a positive and lasting impact on our world." The campus placements for the graduating class of 2023 were a tremendous success, with 1021 students getting placements. Total offers secured by students 1560 which encompass an impressive 384 super dream offers and 360 dream offers. Notably, the highest package extended at VIT-AP by an MNC is Rs 34.4 LPA. Moreover, the 2023 graduating batch’s average salary has also witnessed a substantial rise, climbing to Rs.7.20 LPA from the previous batch's Rs 6.39 LPA. This remarkable outcome was made possible through the participation of over 900 recruiters in VIT Placements 2022-23, encompassing a diverse array of industries, with approximately 100 core companies and a significant representation of around 800 IT companies. On the other hand, a promising trend is evident as more than 150 students eagerly prepare to embark on their journey of higher education through Master’s programs at prestigious universities worldwide.
