University of Sydney welcomes Vietnamese students for higher studies

  • The University of Sydney recently signed an accord with VinUniversity to provide Vietnamese students from underprivileged backgrounds the opportunity to spend a semester of study at Sydney, supported by a Study Abroad Diversity Equity and Inclusion Scholarship. The scholarship will be available to students facing significant financial complications who have excelled in their studies and received a scholarship to study at VinUni. We’re pleased to collaborate with VinUni to support talented Vietnamese students to experience a flavour of life and study in Australia and look forward to greeting them to our University community, Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Mark Scott said. The University of Sydney will provide financial support to the VinUni students selected to study abroad valued at $20,000, to cover tuition fees and accommodation expenses. VinUni will also provide travel and accommodation allowances.

Professor Mark Scott AO, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Sydney, emphasized that the collaboration is in line with the university's dedication to enhancing educational connections with Vietnam and encouraging the success of students from diverse backgrounds. He highlighted the eternal bond between Australia and Vietnam, as exemplified by the University of Sydney's Vietnamese students who play a crucial role in the vibrant and diverse campus community as integral members.

"We are pleased to collaborate with VinUni in assisting talented Vietnamese students in exploring the lifestyle and educational opportunities in Australia. We eagerly anticipate their integration into our university community. Our objective is to prepare the next generation of global leaders, a goal that necessitates offering international exposure to our students. This entails sending Vietnamese students abroad to acquire diverse experiences and also welcoming Australian students for exchange programs in Vietnam".
