Shardeum, the first EVM-based blockchain to achieve linear scalability while keeping atomic composability, has begun a 90-day Proof of Community Backpacking trip through India and Nepal. Shardeum will meet around 7500 students from 50+ educational institutions in 28 Indian states and Nepal in its effort to acquaint the student population with the world of Web3 and its possibilities. Web3 is a future, decentralized technology that gives customers control. Its adoption will soon become a must for everyone across the world, and India is positioned to become a worldwide pioneer, shaping the future of Web3. India accounts for around 11% of worldwide Web3 talent and is increasing at one of the quickest rates ever. However, the country is still hampered by a lack of comprehensive understanding of Web3 and its potential. Many computer aficionados, including students, in India, particularly in rural areas, have yet to be introduced to Web3. Shardeum intends to solve this issue and has embarked on a quest to deliver Web3 workshops at some of the country's premier technology and engineering universities. The 2023 trip will go off with a Web3 session at the famed Indian Institute of Technology in Goa. The Northeastern states of India, which are sometimes overlooked due to their challenging connections, are an essential component of Shardeum's 90+ day backpacking journey. Surprisingly, these states also have a large pool of Web3 developers in the country, proving how Web3 can bridge all gaps and bring more communities together to work. Shardeum will also hold workshops in the states of Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Manipur.
"Web3 is one of the greatest innovations of our time, with the potential to solve several real-world problems," stated Nischal Shetty, co-founder of Shardeum. It is the direction of the global future, and India may be in the hub of this Web3 wave. Shardeum is intended to be a leader in this movement by raising awareness and teaching students about Web3 and its possibilities. We think that Web3 has the ability to generate millions of employment over the next 4-5 years and that India has the potential to emerge as a worldwide talent pool in this domain." Shardeum's Proof of Community Backpacking tour will visit a number of towns in the country, including Chennai, Mumbai, Dharwad, Vellore, Nagpur, Surat, and Patna among others. Premium institutions such as IIT Goa, Vellore Institute of Technology, etc. are a part of the agenda. In Nepal, a workshop will be conducted at a leading institute in Kathmandu, Nepal. "It's fantastic to see blockchain leaders like Shardeum step forward to host events for students." Blockchain is a fast-evolving technology with several applications. "I am sure that students learned a lot from Shardeum experts at the community event at IIT Goa," remarked Dr. Sharad Sinha, Associate Professor (Computer Science and Engineering) and Associate Dean (Faculty Affairs) at IIT Goa. The 90-day backpacking trip is a special version of Shardeum's bigger Proof of Community gatherings that promote Web3 awareness and education. So far, the initiative has held over 200 community events and 100 meetups in 70 places across seven nations. Shardeum has held seminars in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Pune, and Mumbai, among other cities in India of other cities.
