Reformation in medical education: Pak Prime Minister

  • Medical education in Pakistan should be put in order with the present-day requirements as quoted by Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Prime Minister of Pakistan. He was the chairperson in a meeting of the Taskforce for strategic changes in Medical Education and Patient care in Islamabad. Transformations are necessary to be introduced in the health domain to meet the requirements of health specialists in the global market of manpower, said the prime minister.

    The guideline was given on the initiative taken in the health sector in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, Higher Education Commission and the medical institutes of the nation. A three-phase strategy that has been drafted to make the health sector better was also shared with the assembly.  This strategy aims to ensure the imposition of rules and regulations in compliance with international specifications in the healthcare domain.

    The measures taken by the Task Force in the sector of healthcare under the guidance of Special Assistant Dr. Aamir Bilal, were appreciated by Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Prime Minister of Pakistan.
