To foster a culture of innovation and achievement in Qatar, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has introduced the 17th Education Excellence Award. Every year, Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani honors exceptional students, instructors, researchers, and schools with these prizes. The announcement was made at a news conference held at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's headquarters by the Award's organizing committee (MoEHE). Addressing the press conference, the CEO of the Education Excellence Award, Maryam Abdullah Al Muhannadi said the committee will receive nominations for the award from October 1 to 31, 2023. Al Muhannadi, who is also the Director of the Public Relations and Communications Department at MoEHE, said candidates can submit their nomination applications, The award's introductory sessions will be place today and tomorrow. "The entries will be judged in November and December 2023, and the results will be published in January 2024,"
She stated that the winners would be honored at a ceremony in March 2024. The contestants will compete in nine categories, including outstanding student (primary, preparatory, and secondary school), outstanding student (university level), outstanding teacher, outstanding scientific researcher, outstanding master's degree holder, outstanding Ph.D. degree holder, and outstanding school. "The Education Excellence Award is a recognized model of human development investment on which the Qatar National Vision 2030 is founded,"
She stated that the award helps to build a culture of excellence and quality in society by recognizing scientific excellence, which she believes is the basis of excellence for all other sectors in the country. Al Muhannadi stated that schools will allow applications from instructors who apply under the category of teachers. "Interested schools can apply in the 'excellence school category.'" Schools will, however, allow applications for children who apply in the categories of exceptional student (in all three categories) and excellence in scientific research for secondary school students," Al Muhannadi stated. She stated that hopefuls must submit their applications online.
