MICROIP has formally agreed upon a Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) aimed at promoting cooperation in the field of Integrated Circuit (IC) Design and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The memorandum, signed by Dr. James Yang, Chairman of MICROIP, and Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, President of HUFLIT, marks the first step toward a strategic partnership that looks to promote high-tech education and innovation.
As part of this cooperation, HUFLIT invested over $1 million in design intellectual property and related semiconductor hardware and software developed by MICROIP. Among these are FPGA development boards belonging to the Trion and Titanium series and a wide range of IPs: Memory Controllers, DDR, HyperRAM, SDRAM, RISC-V SoC, MIPI DSI/CSI controllers, Ethernet IP, and Efinix Efinity IDE software. These resources would be an aid for the new semiconductor-focused education programs that the university initiates and helps the country evolve into a new breed of skilled professionals in Vietnam.
Under the MOU, MICROIP will cooperate with HUFLIT in key areas such as AI, IC design, talent development, establishment of research and development centers, software creation, and course accreditation programs. This project is going to strengthen the university's technological capabilities and its technical education framework by fostering continued cooperation between the two entities.
We are honored to partner with HUFLIT to advance the international cultivation of talent and technological innovation in semiconductors and AI. MICROIP is committed to applying its expertise in IC design and AI to support Vietnam's high-tech education and industry, which is vital for our global outreach.
This is the very first partnership in Vietnamese academic territory. It will bring a Taiwanese semiconductor company in collaboration with a Vietnamese university to replicate the model for other Vietnamese universities in order to get the profile of Vietnam in the area of semiconductor and AI sectors as well as to enhance the exchange relationship between Taiwan and Vietnam.
According to Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, important facilitation in boosting Vietnam's higher education, "The MOU will help improve the quality of semiconductor research and education at our institution, and we will be building a solid foundation for Vietnam's semiconductor industry while producing world-class tech talent".It pushes both closer in the field of semiconductors and AI and at the same time promotes Vietnam's higher education and high-tech industries.
