The MARA Education Foundation (YPM) Educational Assistance Programme has been a source of hope for over 3,000 students in Pahang, illuminating opportunities in the region for the past three years. With a disbursement of RM573,500, the initiative primarily focuses on aiding Malay and Bumiputera students, including those from the B40 group. The program's influence spans six districts under the jurisdiction of the Bubar Regional Development Authority. Beyond providing financial assistance, the YPM initiative serves as a transformative tool, aiming to improve education in rural and remote areas.
The program not only offers financial aid but also supplies school materials, electronic devices, and comprehensive educational programs. The primary aim is to decrease school absenteeism, ensuring that no child is left behind due to resource constraints. At a recent event at SMK Jubli Perak, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuala Tahan, over 120 students received a school starter kit as part of the assistance. Despite appearing small, this gesture plays a crucial role in boosting students' self-confidence and their capacity to contribute to their communities. Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing educational accessibility.
"I trust that the children benefiting from this program will maximize the opportunities provided. May these students evolve into successful individuals capable of giving back to the community", he expressed during the program's launch at SMK Jubli Perak, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuala Tahan. YPM chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Mohamed Said also attended, reaffirming the commitment to educational development in rural areas. Through these CSR initiatives, they are emphasizing their dedication to not only elevate but also empower these communities through the tool of education.
