IIM Bangalore holds a position within the top 50 in the QS World University Rankings

  • QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a renowned global business school and higher education analyst, has published its Annual Rankings that pinpoint the leading study destinations for aspiring business leaders worldwide. The QS World University Rankings: Global MBA and Business Master’s 2024 encompasses 48 countries and regions, evaluating the top 315 global MBA programs and various specialized Business Master’s programs in high-demand fields like Management, Finance, Marketing, Business Analytics, and Supply Chain Management.

In the realm of MBA programs, the United States takes a dominant position, securing all three top spots on the list. Stanford GSB's MBA maintains its first-place position for the fourth consecutive year, while The Wharton School moves into second place, surpassing Harvard Business School, which now holds the third spot. Stanford GSB's supremacy is attributed to its exceptional alumni outcomes and strong employability.

The rankings also reveal that IIM Bangalore now boasts India's premier MBA program, surpassing the previous national leader, IIM Ahmedabad. IIM Bangalore is one of Asia's top performers in terms of employability and return on investment. Two Indian MBA programs are among the world's top 50 in terms of employability. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore is not only the national leader but also ranks 39th globally and fourth in Asia. Following closely is IIM Calcutta, positioned 46th globally and seventh in Asia. In the category of entrepreneurship and alumni outcomes, two Indian MBA programs make it into the top 50, with IIM Ahmedabad excelling at the 33rd spot globally and second in Asia, while the Indian School of Business ranks 43rd globally and fifth in Asia.

When it comes to 'return on investment', IIM Bangalore stands as the sole Indian MBA program among the top 50, securing the 31st position. It is also the national leader in 'thought leadership', although it doesn't make it into the top 50 globally and is ranked 57th overall. However, diversity remains a weak point for Indian MBA programs, with none of them making it into the top 150. The highest-ranked institution in this regard is the Management Development Institute Gurgaon, falling within the 151-200 range.
