Hyundai Motors Indonesia Launches 'Hyundai Jump School' to Boost Youth Education

  • Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has once again demonstrated its dedication to making a positive impact on Indonesian society, particularly in education. A key initiative is the 'Hyundai Jump School' program, an innovative effort designed to empower young people by connecting them with professional mentors who guide and support their educational journey.

This program is the outcome of a partnership among Hyundai Jump School Korea, HMID, the University of Indonesia, and Wahana Visi Indonesia, who are all involved in its implementation. By engaging multiple stakeholders, Hyundai aims to foster collaborative learning environments where participants can unlock their potential with the guidance of seasoned mentors. Woojune Cha, President Director of PT HMID, emphasized that the initiative is intended to provide greater opportunities for young Indonesians, helping them achieve a brighter future.

"Hyundai Jump School is here to support the development of the potential of the younger generation through innovative learning rooms, guided by professional mentors who are experts in their fields", he said in an official statement. As a first step, Hyundai Jump School held a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, Jakarta, together with the University of Indonesia and Wahana Visi Indonesia. This program is not only aimed at reducing social inequality, but also strengthening public integration through quality education.

In the initial phase, the program will engage 50 selected students from the University of Indonesia. These students will offer knowledge sharing and emotional support at seven local learning centers, such as the Putra Village Orphanage and Nurrisef Learning Activity Studio, dedicating 4 hours each week over 10 months. Each participant will be awarded a scholarship of 1 million won (IDR 11.5 million), with the top performers earning the chance to visit South Korea. During this trip, they will gain firsthand experience of the operations at Hyundai Motors Indonesia and Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia.

To ensure the success of this program, Hyundai Jump School Indonesia will enlist 20 to 30 professional mentors from diverse fields, including academia, community services, and HMID employees. These mentors will offer in-depth guidance to the participants, aiming to create a lasting positive impact on both the individuals involved and their communities. The Hyundai Jump School program will run from September 2024 to June 2025, with the goal of fostering growth and expanding collaborative networks among Indonesia's youth.
