Education Ministry prioritises humane education in Malaysia

  • To make learning comprehensible and reachable to every child is the prime focus of the Ministry of Education throughout the Madani Government’s one-year administration, Minister Fadhlina Sidek stated. Humane education ensures that every child should get the opportunity to study and no child should lag. It is important for us to consider the various aspects of humane education, including the inauguration of specially designed schools to ensure that no children are lagging in education, she said during an interview.

She said the Education Ministry's efforts in ensuring access to education, include measures such as the school-in-hospital programme, to provide opportunities for students with chronic disorders to take part in learning sessions. The seven main principles set by the Ministry in guiding the national education system are the well-being of teachers, upgrading ramshackled schools, highlighting human values (focusing on the importance of good manners, ethics, and integrity), concerns of multidimensional poverty, and online education. Prospering humanistic values will be one of the aspects that we will focus on the personal brilliance and potential of children.

In the upcoming year, the Education Ministry will focus on the quality of education. Meetings will be organized to discuss the future of national education with the education shareholders. The 2027 school curriculum, pursued by state-level campaigns will be included. On the toilet maintenance project, the proposal not only directs one's attention to facility upkeep but also inculcates a sense of responsibility among children, encourages awareness of hygiene practices and addresses challenges related to menstrual poverty.
