Ancom Crop Care grants scholarships to 14 Malaysians for Higher Education

  • Fourteen students from low-income backgrounds in Penang have become the inaugural beneficiaries of Ancom Crop Care Sdn Bhd's scholarship program in the northern state. During the award ceremony, Lee Cheun Wei, the Managing Director and Group CEO of Ancom Nylex, expressed that these 14 students were chosen based on their academic excellence and determination to succeed despite financial hardships. He described their stories as not just narratives of adversity but as shining examples of persistence and determination. In his speech at the scholarship presentation event, he expressed gratitude to Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow for officiating the ceremony and for his dedication to supporting education and the youth of Penang. Lee Cheun Wei emphasized Ancom Crop Care's belief that education is not a privilege but a fundamental right.

    "I commend the company for its dedication to investing in the future of Penang by providing opportunities for our youth to pursue higher education in local universities", he stated. He views these scholarships as investments in Penang's future and is confident that the young scholars will make significant contributions to the state's progress. One of the recipients, Sim Tong Yong, age 20, currently pursuing pharmacy at AIMST University, highlighted that the scholarship opens doors for underprivileged students to advance their studies. Nur Ayuni Dayana Shahrizan, also 20, studying Islamic banking and finance at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, expressed her gratitude for being awarded the scholarship.

    "This will alleviate the financial strain on my family and support me in completing my studies", Nur Ayuni Dayana Shahrizan remarked. Tharshini, a 22-year-old law student, expressed gratitude for being chosen for the scholarship, stating, "I encounter numerous financial challenges, so this assistance will aid me in finishing my studies". Ancom Crop Care has dedicated RM1 million for a three-year period to finance this scholarship initiative. Each recipient will be granted a maximum of RM10,000 for tuition fees throughout their programs.
