United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi The College of Engineering faculty at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) is ranked in the top 2% of cited researchers worldwide for 2023, in keeping with ADU's dedication to fostering innovation and research. The listed projects span a variety of engineering specialties and seek to address engineering problems. Elsevier, a Dutch academic publishing house with a focus on scientific, technical, and medical content that Stanford University highlights every year, is the source of this list.
The faculty was honored for their outstanding research in a number of fields, including cybersecurity engineering associate professor Dr. Shehzad Ashraf Chaudhry, who is in the top 2% of all career-long researchers. Additionally, Dr. Chaudhry has written more than 170 papers, 140 of which were published in journals with a Science Citation Index and received more than 5,000 citations. Dr. Moatsum Alawida, an assistant professor of computer science and information technology, has similarly concentrated his research on chaotic systems, chaos-based applications, multimedia security, blockchain, cybersecurity, drone security, and cryptography. Through his research, Dr. Alawadi aimed to apply fresh ideas and methods from programming languages to the development of safe and reliable systems.
Additionally, Dr. Osama Ahmed Mohamed, a professor of civil engineering and the chair of the department of architecture and design, led a group of researchers in a project aimed at lowering CO2 emissions connected to the construction sector, one of the infamously significant sources of human activities influencing the environmental footprint.
Additionally, Dr. Mohammed Asaad Ghazal, professor and chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, has helped the university achieve a record-breaking 270 Scopus publications, including an impressive 30% in the top 10% of journals. Over 4,000 references have been made to Dr. Ghazal's work, which attests to its significant influence on the scientific community. Last but not least, Dr. Taimur Hassan, an assistant professor of computer engineering, worked on a number of studies with a focus on computer vision, machine learning, and medical imaging. Dr. Hassan has also received praise for his prolific research output, with a number of his articles appearing in esteemed journals like Information Fusion and Medical Image Analysis, among others.
