Sarawak Skills Group of Learning Institutions (Sarawak Skills) has unveiled a range of initiatives aimed at nurturing staff talents to bolster the Sarawak Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 and the Sarawak government’s endeavours in reducing carbon emissions.
Hallman Sabri, the executive director of Sarawak Skills, disclosed that ten educators from three affiliated institutions are presently undergoing training in hydrogen technology in China. The participants hail from the Automotive and Welding Institute of Sarawak (Awisar), i-CATS University College, and Sarawak Skills Kuching. The training, spanning two weeks, is being conducted at Foshan Polytechnic and Foshan Feichi Motor Technology Co Ltd in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China.
Highlighting the longstanding partnership between the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC) and HWK Aachen, Germany, Hallman noted that 15 trainers, including three from Sarawak Skills, will participate in the Train-The-Trainer (TTT) Meister Mechatronic Programme. This program is scheduled to run from June 8 to 22.
Hallman emphasized that these developmental efforts are crucial for Sarawak Skills as they align with the broader objectives of enhancing human capital development, in consonance with the PCDS 2030. He stressed that these initiatives will significantly contribute to nurturing a skilled workforce capable of meeting present and future challenges.
In essence, Sarawak Skills is actively investing in the professional growth of its staff, recognizing the importance of staying abreast of advancements in technology and skills development. By engaging in such training programs, the institution aims to equip its educators with the latest knowledge and expertise, ultimately fostering the development of a highly skilled workforce essential for the sustainable growth and prosperity of Sarawak.
