Peng Shen Technology Partners with Leading Thai Universities to Boost PCB Manufacturing

  • Peng Shen Technology, a joint venture between Zhen Ding Tech Group (ZDT) and Saha Group, is set to establish a cutting-edge PCB manufacturing facility in Thailand, signaling its entry into the ASEAN market with an initial investment of around 10 billion baht. This investment, expected to exceed 50 billion baht by 2030, underscores Peng Shen's ambition to create a smart manufacturing hub capable of meeting global demands for advanced electronics.

    The initiative includes partnerships with five leading Thai educational institutions, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Kasetsart University, National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), and Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT) at Thammasat University. These collaborations aim to nurture local talent and enhance Thailand's competitiveness in PCB manufacturing on a global scale.

    Dr. Siriporn Pittayasophon from the National Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Policy Council emphasized the strategic importance of developing human resources in semiconductors and advanced electronics. This aligns with Thailand's broader economic strategy to drive sustainable growth through technological innovation.

    Mr. Vorayos Thongtan, President of Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Public Company Limited (SPI), highlighted the increasing demand for PCBs driven by advancements in AI, electric vehicles, and IoT. Thailand's strategic location and conducive business environment position it as ASEAN's premier PCB manufacturing base, attracting foreign direct investment and accelerating industrial growth.

    Mr. Darren Xiao, President of Peng Shen Technology Co., Ltd., outlined plans to commence production in Thailand by 2025 and recruit over 1,000 highly skilled personnel by 2027. Initiatives include internships for Thai students at ZDT's facilities in China to enhance technical expertise and prepare them for industry demands.

    The collaboration aims to advance PCB manufacturing technologies, foster innovation, and establish a dedicated research and development ecosystem. The signing ceremony, attended by representatives from the five universities, highlighted their commitment to elevating Thailand's PCB industry to global prominence.

    Professor Dr. -Ing. habil. Suchat Siengchin, Asst. Prof. Rutchanee Gullayanon, Assoc. Prof. Ladawan Puangchit, Asst. Prof. Pornprom Suthatorn, and Assoc. Prof. Warut Pannakkong expressed enthusiasm for the partnership's potential to drive Thailand's industrial growth and strengthen its position in the global electronics sector.

    The collaboration between Peng Shen Technology and leading Thai universities represents a significant step toward establishing Thailand as a global leader in PCB manufacturing. By investing in local talent development, technological advancement, and innovation, the partnership aims to secure Thailand's position at the forefront of the global electronics industry, contributing to economic growth and sustainable development.
