The inaugural undergraduate program at Cambodia-China University of Technology and Science attracted 160 students for bachelor's degrees and an additional 420 participants for enterprise-sponsored training. All enrolled individuals will undertake Chinese language studies alongside their chosen majors, aligning with the institution's educational objectives. Touch Visalsok, a high-ranking official at Cambodia's Ministry of Education, emphasized the university's pivotal role in nurturing technical expertise crucial for Cambodia's progress across various sectors such as industry, transportation, energy, production, and tourism.
As 2024 marks the Cambodia-China people-to-people exchange year, Visalsok expressed optimism about the university's potential to strengthen the bonds between the two nations through educational initiatives. He envisioned the institution as a catalyst for fostering deeper cultural connections and friendship between the people of Cambodia and China. Moreover, Visalsok believed that the university's endeavors would advance the shared goal of building a high-quality, mutually beneficial China-Cambodia community for the future.
Established collaboratively by the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia and Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, the university offers six distinct majors to its students. These fields include new energy power generation engineering technology, automobile service engineering technology, network engineering technology, e-commerce, modern logistics management, and tourism management. Teng Lay, representing the Cambodian Board of Directors, affirmed the institution's commitment to cultivating proficient technical professionals who will significantly contribute to Cambodia's socioeconomic development.
Situated within the Chroy Changvar Satellite City in Phnom Penh's Chroy Changvar district, the university boasts a modern campus equipped with essential facilities. These include the main university building, cutting-edge laboratories, green spaces, and a dining area. The institution's emphasis on providing a conducive learning environment underscores its dedication to fostering academic excellence and practical skill development among its students.
