The University of Santo Tomas (UST) was conferred with the prestigious Agora Marketing Education of the Year Award by the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) for outstanding contributions to marketing education.
The award, received on Tuesday, honors institutions that do more than just traditional education by equipping students and professionals with the latest marketing knowledge, industry insights, and practical skills. UST's Department of Marketing Management, under the College of Commerce and Business Administration, has been instrumental in forging key industry partnerships, including collaborations with Philippine Bank of Communications, McCormick, and Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc. for marketing research initiatives.
Furthermore, UST is upgrading its Digital Marketing or Advertising course by including a certificate from the Digital Marketing Association Academy. The department has also sponsored big industry events such as STRATMARK 2024, L'Oréal Career Camp 2024, and Marketing Confluence. Other collaborations have been made through the TOMASINNO Center, UST's in-house technology business incubator, with product-market fit and business model development.
PMA emphasized that recipients of the award excel in curriculum development, student engagement, experiential learning, and faculty expertise as setting high standards for marketing education in the country.
UST already received the award for Marketing School of the Year from PMA in 2016 and 2022 while receiving a similar recognition from JA Philippines in 2022.
