University of Indonesia Collaborates with European Nations

  • Ambassador Armin Limo of Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the University of Indonesia (UI) to discuss potential collaborations in education. This builds upon an existing partnership established in 2019 with Bosnian universities. Dr. Agustin Kusumayati, UI's Secretary, highlighted the meeting's importance as a platform for expanding collaboration with Bosnia-Herzegovina. The university aims to enhance its academic network, expressing optimism for future partnerships with additional universities and the Bosnian government.

Ambassador Limo emphasized the main purpose of the visit: promoting collaboration through technology and communication to facilitate distance learning opportunities. Bosnia-Herzegovina, with its offering of more than 500 online courses primarily in English, was viewed as a potential hub for cooperative educational endeavors. The ambassador proposed the initial step of making these courses accessible to students, which could substantially enhance their academic growth. Both sides conveyed optimism for a robust relationship built on continuous collaboration, combining knowledge and cultural diversity.

The University of Indonesia (UI) is a public institution situated in Depok, West Java, and Salemba, Jakarta, Indonesia. Established during the Dutch East Indies era, UI is among the oldest tertiary-level educational institutions in Indonesia. Widely regarded as one of the country's most prestigious universities, it shares this distinction with Gadjah Mada University and the Bandung Institute of Technology. In the 2024 QS World Universities Ranking, UI holds the top position in Indonesia, securing the 49th spot in Asia and the 237th position globally.
