DU Collaborates with Korean University for Language Advancement

  • Delhi University and Kyungpook National University, Korea, have entered into an agreement to boost Korean language education in both institutions. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is initially valid for one year and is subject to annual renewals for the subsequent three years.

    During the signing ceremony, Professor Yogesh Singh, Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, expressed that this collaboration signifies the initial step in fostering a friendly and mutually beneficial partnership between the two universities. Vikas Gupta, Registrar of the University of Delhi, and Professor Hwang Hwa-seok, Director of the Institute for International Development at Kyungpuk National University, acted as representatives during the exchange of documents.

    Vikas Gupta mentioned that as per the MoU, Kyungpuk National University will allocate funds to Delhi University for initiatives such as the renovation of language laboratories and the development of infrastructure for program operations. Additionally, Kyungpuk National University has appointed a Korean language instructor and committed to providing scholarships to ten students annually from the Department of East Asian Studies, allowing them to participate in student exchange programs with Kyungpuk National University.

    During the event, key individuals such as Public Relations Officer Anoop Lather, Professor Nabin Panda, Head of the Department of East Asian Studies, Neera Agnimitra, Chairperson of International Relations, Anil Rai, Dean International Relations (Social Sciences and Humanities), and Professor Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Dean International Relations (Science and Technology), along with other officials from International Relations, were in attendance.
