  • Tokyo Tech has collaborated with AirTrunk, a leading data center company in the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions, to establish the AirTrunk Scholarship aimed at empowering exceptional female students passionate about STEM fields. AirTrunk, with its presence in several countries including Japan, Singapore, and Australia, has pledged its support to Tokyo Tech for the next two years, highlighting its commitment to fostering STEM education and diversity.

Tokyo Tech's core objectives include fostering a culturally rich environment where learning and working are accessible to all. Its dedication to promoting STEM education and embracing diversity aligns with AirTrunk's mission to nurture the next generation of STEM professionals, particularly women. The partnership between Tokyo Tech and AirTrunk is founded on a shared vision of advancing STEM education and empowering underrepresented groups in these fields.

During a meeting on Tokyo Tech's Ookayama Campus, AirTrunk's Chief Marketing Officer Lise Kay and Head of Strategic Development for Japan Jakob Wetzel engaged with Tokyo Tech's Vice President for Public Engagement Shigeru Hioki. Hioki elaborated on Tokyo Tech's DEI initiatives and educational strategies, showcasing the institution's commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. In addition to the AirTrunk Scholarship, which will commence in the upcoming academic year, the collaboration with AirTrunk extends its support to Tokyo Tech's STEM Education for Younger Generations initiative. This pillar of the Tokyo Tech Fund focuses on enhancing science education for elementary, middle, and high school students, aiming to cultivate Japan's future leaders and technical innovators.

The overarching goal of the AirTrunk Scholarship is to nurture passionate STEM professionals, particularly women, who aspire to contribute to building a sustainable digital society. This partnership between Tokyo Tech and AirTrunk signifies a joint commitment to shaping the future of STEM education and empowering individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.
