Assam Government Unveils 10,000+ Teaching Vacancies

  • The Assam government has recently released a notification unveiling an extensive array of job opportunities within the education department, surpassing the mark of 10,000 available positions. Ranoj Pegu, the esteemed education minister of Assam, took the initiative to provide comprehensive insights into these recruitment endeavors. Pegu disclosed that the Directorate of Secondary Education has initiated a recruitment drive, inviting applications for a total of 1,424 vacancies for postgraduate teachers and an additional 7,249 openings for graduate teachers. These positions span across diverse subjects and are specifically intended for provincialized secondary schools, as indicated by an official statement released by the concerned authorities.

    Furthermore, the Directorate of Elementary Education has taken strides by unveiling advertisements to fill various teaching roles. These encompass 3,800 vacancies for assistant teachers designated for LP schools, alongside 1,750 positions catering to assistant teachers, Science teachers, and Hindi teachers specifically aimed at Uttar Pradesh (UP) schools, as outlined in the official statement.

    Senior Minister Pijush Hazarika shared his commendation for this extensive recruitment initiative via a post on X, expressing enthusiastic support for the teaching community. He highlighted the government's proactive step in opening up over 10,000 teaching positions, aligning with the visionary goals of Biswa. Hazarika emphasized the imminent realization of this vision, affirming the government's steadfast commitment to achieving a historic milestone in job recruitment. He underscored the administration's dedication to ensuring a transparent and equitable recruitment process, reflecting the government's resolve to create substantial employment opportunities.
