The British Council celebrated the successful completion of its Accelerating English Language Learning in Central Asia (AELLCA) project at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. Funded by the UK Government and implemented by Nottingham Trent University, the project has made significant strides in enhancing English Language Teaching (ELT) in Turkmenistan.
During the closing ceremony, British Ambassador Stephen Conlon praised the growing educational cooperation between the UK and Turkmenistan, highlighting the progress made since last year. The Ambassador presented certificates from Nottingham Trent University to dedicated teachers, acknowledging their hard work and commitment to the project.
Dr. Samuel Barclay of Nottingham Trent University shared valuable insights during the event, reflecting on the lasting impact of the initiative. As part of the project, study visits to the UK were arranged for members of the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and the International University for Humanities and Development, aimed at improving their understanding of school-based professional development practices.
The AELLCA project has played a key role in building bridges through language and education, fostering stronger connections and creating future opportunities for collaboration between the UK and Turkmenistan.
