Madina Ziyadkhanova, a fourth-year Chemical Engineering student at Baku Higher Oil School of SOCAR, has been selected for a prestigious research internship at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) in Japan. This program will run from June 29 to September 11, with all expenses covered by OIST. Madina will be conducting research at the Complex Flows & Fluids Department under the guidance of Prof. Marco Eduardo Rosti. Her research will focus on optimizing reactor efficiency under turbulent flow conditions to enhance product recovery.
The internship program at OIST is highly competitive, with only 10-14% of applications accepted. This underscores the significance of Madina’s achievement, as OIST has been a hub for world-renowned scientists since its inception in 2012. In addition to her studies at Baku Higher Oil School, Madina is currently participating in an exchange program at the Middle East Technical University. This experience has undoubtedly enriched her academic journey and prepared her for the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming research internship.
Madina’s selection for this program not only highlights her academic excellence but also underscores the global recognition of her potential in the field of chemical engineering. The research conducted during her internship will contribute to the broader scientific community’s understanding of reactor efficiency in turbulent flow conditions, a critical area for improving industrial processes and product recovery.
This opportunity at OIST represents a significant milestone in Madina’s academic career, providing her with invaluable experience and exposure to cutting-edge research. Her involvement in this program exemplifies the calibre of students emerging from Baku Higher Oil School and their potential to make significant contributions to scientific and engineering advancements on a global scale.
